Little League Alberta has announced the formation of the Province Wide Junior and Senior AAA Division beginning in the 2022 Season.
With this announcement, Centennial Little League is announcing our intention of forming teams for this division based upon interest from CLL players, and other associations. We will be offering this program to any player in District 3 whose home Association is not going to form their own team(s). Please register with your Home Association and indicate with them your interest in participating.
This will be a Competitive Travel Team option for players to opt in and try out for. You must participate in the AAA Evaluations camp on April 6th in order to be considered for the team. NOT everyone will make the team!!!! There is definitely a higher level of commitment required for this team both from a practice schedule, game commitments and season length.
The Season will run from April 15th through to August 7th for the Completion of the Regular Season, with playoffs tentatively scheduled for the August 21st weekend. Games will be primarily played on weekends across the province. At the moment it is believed that if the travel is within 2.5 hours, you will play a double header on 1 day. Should the travel be in excess of 2.5 hours it will be a 2 day/4 game set. Planning is revolving around approximately a 28 game season. These teams will have the option to participate in the Alberta Championships in July, and should they win them, they will be able to move on the the Canadian Championships, and potentially the Little League World Series in their division.
In order to be considered for these teams, you will need to register for participation in your associations respective Junior and Senior Divisions and indicate your desire to be considered. You will then be invited to the AAA Evaluations tentatively scheduled for April 6th. After this evaluation you will be informed if you made the team, and you will be charged the additional fees for participation. If you do not make the team you will be placed on a Team within your association for the Spring Season as usual.
We are currently finalizing budgets for these teams, so we do not have an exact final "fee" amount. However for planning purposes we want to let families know that we do not believe that this fee will exceed a total of $750. This fee DOES NOT cover any of your travel expenses for participation on this team.
